My recent visit to a nature preserve with a Canon friend turned out to be a memorable one. Our original plan was to visit Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge but soon that plan was dropped as it was inaccessible due to construction. So visited the Steigerwald Lake Wildlife Refuge instead. Initially I met with few critters on the ground.
Soon after that things have changed for good as we hiked deep into the park. I met with a park ranger, avid bird watcher and photographer Ken Pitts. Visit his website https://www.nwbirdscapes.com/.
His keen knowledge of birds and observation led us to multiple encounters with the nature. I was able to get really close to this deer, mere few away to capture the picture. I also got a close up view of an elusive American Bittern bird.
All in all it was a great and memorable trip, thanks to friends and a friendly encounter with the nature.
